Memories of visits to a variety of Trade Fairs. Staying on moored cruise boats, the wintry Rhine flooding low areas of the old town. Walking across the railway bridge connecting the Messe side with the Central Station. Inevitably sleet and snow dampened the atmosphere. At night exploring the pedestrianized area, recalling the old illuminated '4711' Eau de Cologne sign and experiencing the chilled, echoing interior of the Cathedral.
