EIFFEL TOWER - BLUE MOOD
The proposed tower design, raised much protest from key figures in the French Arts Establishment. A statement damning its aesthetics was rebuffed by Gustave Eiffel, the designer, who compared his vision to the Egyption Pyramids. Created as the Entrance Arch to the 1889 Worlds Fair, it had a permit to stand for 20 years, to be dismantled in 1909. However the public loved it from the beginning and it became an iconic Parisian structure.
