HAYDON WILLIAMS

SPRING RITES

Richmond Park was created by Charles 1 in 1643, as a hunting deer park-having brought the Court from London to avoid the plague. Within the picture, a 'courtly dance' of blood red leaves is set against the fresh greens of emerging Spring. An image of Kingly death, dancing with innocent life.A symbol of the 'Divine Right of Kings' which monarchs believed they possessed.
